Swami Balyogi Premvarni was born in North India in a village
situated between the sacred rivers of Ganga and Yamuna. Early
in life he developed a keen interest in the science and philosophy
of Yoga. He renounced worldly life and left his family in
childhood, traveling to the valley of Rishikesh where he studied
under the spiritual authority of Himalayan Masters. Later, he
pursued an intense sadhana (spiritual practice), living in
austerity in mountain caves and on the banks of the Ganges.
In an extraordinarily short time, he achieved mastery of 500
Hatha Yoga asanas, 100 pranayamas, and all the important kriyas,
bandhas, and sutras associated with Kundalini Yoga. Through the
practice of Raja Yoga and Gyana Yoga, he also attained deep and
profound realization of the many levels of Being and Consciousness.
